Have Your Say – Draft Logan Plan 2025
The Draft Logan Plan 2025 is now open for public consultation until 31 October 2025. Sample Resident Submission:
Feel free to copy and paste in an e-mail and add you own words. Dear Logan Plan Team,
I am writing to make a Submission on the Draft Logan Plan 2025.
As a Forestdale resident, I am concerned that while the draft scheme intends to preserve the character of our estate, in practice the outcomes do not always achieve this balance.
Forestdale was created as a low-density, rural acreage estate with a strong sense of place, where landscape, lifestyle, and community identity are inseparable. This is the lifestyle residents have enjoyed for decades and wish to see carried forward into the future planning and development outcomes.
Insert your personal statement here, for example: why you chose to live in Forestdale, what you value most about the suburb, or how you feel about its changing character.
Forestdale plays an important ecological role in Logan. Our suburb sits within the Karawatha–Greenbank corridor and contributes to city-wide canopy and climate resilience objectives. These broader values are inseparable from the liveability we enjoy in our neighbourhood.
It is therefore vital that the Draft Logan Plan 2025 includes stronger provisions that ensure Forestdale remains:
A low-density residential acreage community, consistent with its origins and zone code intent.
A place that safeguards community identity, amenity, and liveability for current and future residents.
Integral to the Karawatha–Greenbank localised wildlife corridor, with provisions that support safe wildlife movement and habitat.
A suburb recognised as contributing to Logan’s canopy targets and climate resilience, in line with the State Government’s ShapingSEQ framework.
I respectfully request that Council strengthen the Draft Logan Plan 2025 so that the protections intended for Forestdale are made effective in practice, ensuring our estate remains both liveable for residents and valuable for the environment
Sincerely,

Why?
Council has noted that Forestdale residents are often very quiet in consultations, let’s change that. Even short submissions make a difference.
This is our community’s chance to ensure Forestdale’s future reflects its true values as a low-density residential acreage estate, rather than being treated the same as suburbs like Browns Plains.
Not every resident will share the same perspective and that’s exactly why it’s important that all voices are heard in shaping our suburb’s future.
Forestdale has been enjoyed for decades as a low-density, rural acreage estate, with lifestyle and liveability at its heart. In theory, the current scheme intends to protect this.
In practice, the outcomes have sometimes lacked balance.
What we’ve been told as representatives of Forest 4 Forestdale is that Council feels it rarely hears from Forestdale residents.
Maybe we’ve been overlooked as one of Logan’s older suburbs on the Brisbane border, either way, this is the moment to remind Council that we are here, and we are special.
It’s imperative that the Draft Logan Plan 2025 effectively captures the provisions needed to ensure Forestdale remains:
A low-density residential community
Rural acreage in character and lifestyle
Intrinsic to the Karawatha–Greenbank corridor
Climate and heat resilient
Recognised as an asset in canopy objectives under ShapingSEQ
Formally identified as a localised wildlife corridor, deserving of wildlife-friendly movement infrastructure and protection
This is not about changing the residential nature of our estate. It’s about ensuring the balance is kept, so the protections promised on paper actually safeguard the lifestyle, environment, and values we all enjoy.
